Activities in Chamonix
Luge
Lie on your back, feet first on a tray with wheels in the Summer or sledge in the Winter. Both have brakes (sort of!) but the brave won’t need them as you take your pick of the two 1000m tracks with a vertical drop of 180m.
Paintball
Paintball was developed by Australian sheep farmers as a way of marking their sheep but has since developed into an international sport. You’ll battle in the woods Du Bouchet in Chamonix with the incredible mountain backdrop to add to some spectacle to the proceedings. A 2 hour game including safety equipment, gloves, semi-automatic gun, 100 balls and unlimited air. Extra balls available for £1 per 20.
Mountain Biking
A mecca for bike enthusiasts, the Chamonix valley is a paradise for those preferring the speed of two wheels and the power of gravity.
This half day activity includes a top quality suspension equipped bike and an experienced guide to show you why the valley is fast becoming one of Europe biking hotspots.
Rafting
From spring onwards the mountain melt waters swell the rivers that pass through Chamonix and the surrounding valleys creating some world class rafting well into the summer months. The Mont Blanc region offers outstanding rafting territory.
Hydrospeed
If rafting seems a bit tame then maybe this is the sport for you! Hydrospeeding is basically rafting on a small plastic sled equipped with nothing but some flippers, a helmet and a wetsuit. You’ll tackle the L’Arve river that runs through Chamonix and all the way down the Valley to Sallanches 1km below.
Rock Climbing
Chamonix is the world capital and birthplace of modern climbing and mountaineering so where better to learn the basics of this thrilling and rewarding sport. This is a half-day beginner’s course for groups of 4-6 with professional instruction on a huge vertical rock face in Chamonix itself. Includes helmet, harnesses, ropes and all other equipment required.
Valley Blanche Glacier
A once in a lifetime experience for skiers and boarders with at least 4 weeks riding under their belts. First thing in the morning you’ll emerge from the Aguille de Midi cable car at 3,840 metres to be met by probably the best view in the Europe from the highest point in Europe accessible by lift. From there the only way is down and it’ll take most of the day for you and your high mountain guide(s) equipped with harnesses, ropes and avalanche transceivers to the reach the valley floor. Over the course of the day you’ll travel through 14 miles of genuine high alpine wilderness without a single piste, lift, marker or barrier between you and the mountain. You’ll cross the infamous initial arête, pass incredible ice formations, seemingly bottomless crevasses and find the freshest powder that the valley has to offer that day.
Canyoning
The ultimate adrenaline rush. Working with qualified guides you’ll make your way down the mountain rivers using a combination of abseiling, rock jumps, boulder scrambling, swimming and sliding down smooth rock faces.
Golf
A classic course designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr in 1935 and generally considered the best in the Haute Savoie region. The course lies along the valley in the Le Praz area of Chamonix with towering mountain peaks on either side and stunning views from each of the 18 holes.
Skiing
Ski the world famous Chamonix Valley including the legendary Grands Montets at Argentiere. As Charles Dickens said on first seeing Chamonix: “Mont Blanc and the valley of Chamonix, and the sea of Ice, and all the wonders of the most wonderful place are above and beyond one's wildest expectation. I cannot imagine anything in nature more stupendous or sublime” We will provide ski’s, boots, bindings and a 1 day ski pass and a guide to show you around the 90 miles of pistes that Chamonix has to offer.
Snowboarding

Husky Sledging
Hurtling through the countryside behind a pack of husky dogs is something not many have experienced; their sheer enthusiasm for the task in hand is all too evident as you reach top speed. During this quintessentially alpine activity, you'll be taught how to harness a pack of huskies together, attach them to the sledge and learn about their pack and social behaviours. Then you learn how to drive the sledge and control the dog pack so you can really appreciate husky sledging as a traditional mode of transport.
Paragliding
Paragliding or in French Parapente - one of the closest feelings to flying you will ever be able to experience. Invented just 50km from Chamonix, this incredible sport has spread all around the world to take over from hangliding as the most popular form of unpowered flight. Your instructor will take you up to one of the numerous launch spots along the valley and then after a few minutes preparation you’ll be strapped together and ready to run off the nearest cliff. 40-50 minutes of soaring above the mountains on the thermals later and you’ll land safely in the lush grass/snow covered fields in the centre of town.
Ice climbing
Harnessed, roped and wielding crampons and ice axes under the leadership and guidance of a high mountain guide, there is plenty to learn - the sensation of walking up sheer ice is unique.
Discover a side of the Alps that few get to experience and the sensation of conquering this impressive terrain.
Quad bike & Go-Karting
Spend a morning or afternoon tearing up off road trails and the race circuit on both a 300cc Quad bike and a high power 270cc Go-Kart. You’ll get a mini race series of three 10 minute session on the kart track followed by a guided off-road quad bike tour around the stunning scenery of Mt Blanc and Lake Passy.
Ice Rallying
How about an afternoon tearing around a 1km race circuit made entirely of ice and snow? With our ice rallying option you can act out all your Colin McRae fantasies with an instructor beside you to help you get fully sideways on all the bends!
James Bond - Italian Job
After your day’s activities why not spend the evening in the neighbouring resort of Courmayeur. Leaving Chamonix at 6pm, we reach the foot of the Italian slopes and travel by skidoo to our restaurant – a thrilling trip piloted by expert local drivers. After a fantastic dinner of the very best regional Italian cuisine, we return to the valley on skis in a torchlit descent (non skiers can descend by skidoo/sledge). Includes transport, skidoos and food and wine in Italian mountain restaurant.
Heli-skiing
The ultimate way to avoid the crowds! For the James Bond in everyone you can’t beat skiing/boarding by helicopter. The trip in the helicopter is enough of a thrill for most people but with heli-skiing you then touch down on a virgin powder field 3-4,000 metres up an undeveloped mountain and know that for the whole run down it’s fresh powder all the way. Equipment hire not included.
Helicopter flights around Mt Blanc
The Alps offer some of the most dramatic scenery in the whole of Europe and nowhere more so than around it’s highest mountain, Mt Blanc. What better way to take in the views than from a helicopter? This 30 minute trip will show you the Chamonix Valley and the stunning Mt Blanc from every angle including the views from Italy and Switzerland.
Tandem parachute jump
After a short preparatory course you’ll take a small plane up to 4,000metres and then strapped to your instructor it’s a small step for man…. 2,500 metres at 140mph later the instructor will pull the cord and you’ll both float gracefully back to earth with a huge smile on your face.
Stripper in chalet
This is France and whether it’s a girl or boy you’re looking for you just know they’re going to be sexy! We’ve scoured the region and after much research have found that Annecy has the best. The girls or boys will come to the chalet itself and entertain you in the comfort of your own surroundings.
