Winter Bobsleigh
Description:
Sigulda is the only Olympic-standard bobsleigh track in Baltic’s, home of national team. There are fourteen curves, one bridge.
Olympic Bobsleigh is available in winter only, whilst the track is iced – roughly November till March. Each descent takes down three participants. One descent per person. The bob is piloted by ex-Olympic team member.
Activity is state-run and is known for cancelling bookings without notice due to unscheduled training sessions and track maintenance. Activity is weather-depending.
Even when booked well in advance the track does not guarantee booking; in such cases we provide alternative activity.
Includes: Return transfer, english-speaking guide, one ride per person
Season: Middle of November - middle of March (04.02 - 18.02 - the track is closed)
Travel time: 1 hr drive from the centre
Timings: Sat. - Sun. 10:00 - 16:00
Notes: The track is state-operated with no performance-based incentives for its staff, so the service is sometimes slow, and sometimes subject to cancellation by track without any notice. The track often closes down for maintenance, trainings or competitions and because of weather conditions without telling anyone. Our experience shows that track can take definite booking and then shut down for training on following day without even calling us back. Sometimes groups booked into a particular time slot are placed into live cue instead. We would like to ask you ensure that the clients are aware that it is state owned non-commercial event and are happy to have substitute activity if bobsleigh is cancelled.
The activity reserve the right to turn away participants under influence of alcohol or illegal substances, in which case no compensation or replacement activities are provided
