Overnight Soviet prison experience
This is unique overnight experience and well worth time spent. The travel time is about two and a half hours to disused Russian military base. Experience is based in military prison building which went out of service just ten years ago when Russian army withdrew from Latvia. Until then it was used by Russian navy to detain sailors for various crimes committed during their active service. It still has all facilities and equipment. Upon arrival “prisoners” are undergoing search, medical assessment, photographed to produce original prisoner registration cards (mailed out to participants later) and interrogated. The activity is operated by some of the original staff and involves mild abuse – doing pushups, jogging wearing gas masks, a lot of shouting and pushing around. Once done the group is left to occupy original prison cells, either locked up for night or left open to wander about. Optional 3am drill is available. The group uses canteen with authentic Russian prisoners menu. In the morning the group is taken back to hotel. This is definitely a night to remember.
